Queen Charlotte’s Birthday Ball (QCBB) is held the third week of January at Fort York to honour King George III’s wife, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The tradition began when King George III hosted a ball in January or February of 1780.
This day-long event includes an historical lecture, Regency refreshments, an English Country Dance workshop, a food tasting, a Georgian buffet supper with recipes from the period, and an evening ball.

Sadly, the date of this year’s Queen Charlotte’s Birthday Ball has not been set and will most likely be cancelled due to Covid-19.
